===== Special Operations Menu =====

The **Special Operations Menu** provides advanced functions for [[master:volumes|Volumes]].

==== Operations ====

  * **[[master:add_note|Add Note]]**: The [[master:add_note|Add Note]] function will launch the [[master:add_note|Add Note]] window.
  * **[[object:volume#duplicate-volume-ids|Check for Duplicate within Customer]]**: The "Check for Duplicate within Customer" will search the current [[master:customer|Customer]] for [[master:volumes|Volumes]] with the same [[master:volumes|Volume-ID]] as the selected [[master:volumes|Volume]] in all media types.
  * **Confirm**: The "Confirm" operation confirms the selected [[master:volumes|Volume]] at its Target Location when it is in a move.
  * **Container**: The Container Menu provides three options:
      *  Register: Register will add the designation of "Container" to a Volume.
      *  De-Register: De-Register will remove the designation of "Container" from a [[master:volumes|Volume]]. 
      * Purge: Purge will remove all [[master:volumes|Volumes]] from a Container.
  * **Detect missing volumes in a sequence** will scan through the selected [[master:volumes|Volumes]] and list any Volume-ID's missing from the numerical sequence.
  * **Find Duplicate Slots**: The "Find Duplicate Slots" will find [[master:volumes|Volumes]] that have been assigned to the same Slot as another [[master:volumes|Volume]].
  * **Modify**: The Modify Menu contains options to:
    * [[master:container_selection|Add a Volume to a Container]]
    * [[object:data_cluster|Add a Volume to a Data Cluster]] 
    * [[master:built_in_repositories#home-repository|Set a Volume's Home Repository]]
    * [[master:set_volume_flags|Modify Flags]]
    * [[master:next_move|Modify Return Dates]].
  * **Scan**: The Scan menu contains options to :
    * **[[master:volumes#scan-to-add-volumes|Scan to Add Volumes]]**: The "Scan to Add Volumes" Function will launch the [[master:admin_barcode|Barcode Scanning Window]] and add the [[master:volumes|Volumes]] being scanned to the selected [[master:customer|Customer]] and [[master:media|Media Type]].
    * **[[master:scan-to-select-volumes|Scan to Select Volumes]]**: The "Scan to Select Volumes" function will launch the [[master:admin_barcode|Barcode Scanning Window]] and select the [[master:volumes|Volumes]] being scanned in the [[master:view_volume_list|Volume List]].
    * **Search Next Move Dates** opens the ''Next Move Date Search'' window.  This enables you to search for tapes moving on a certain day or days within the current media.
  * **Show Move Dates in Month View**: The Show Move Dates in Month View function will launch a window displaying the [[master:moving_volumes|move]] dates for the selected [[master:volumes|Volume(s)]] in a calendar format.
  * **Slots**
    * **Find Duplicate Slots** will search the current [[master:media|Media Type]] for any slots occupied by multiple [[master:volumes|Volumes]].
