The [[object:repository|Repository]] Option ''Allow Overlaps'' allows internally overlapping Zone locations to be assigned to this [[object:repository|Repository]].

===== Allow Overlaps Options =====

  * ''True'': Allow overlapping Zone allocation.
  * ''False'': Disallow overlapping Zone allocation.

Allow Overlaps controls whether two or more Zones within the same repository may contain overlapping slot ranges.

When set to True, TapeTrack permits the same slot numbers to be included in multiple Zones.

Example:

^Zone	^Slot range^
|LTO	|1–100|
|DAILY	|50–75|

Slots 50–75 overlap and belong to both Zones. TapeTrack will only allow this configuration when Allow Overlaps is enabled.

This can be useful when Zones represent different classifications or logical groupings rather than exclusive physical areas.

|False	|Zone slot ranges must not overlap|
|True	|Multiple Zones may include the same slot locations|

It does not allow two tapes to occupy the same physical slot. It only allows Zone definitions to cover some of the same slot numbers.

Generally, leave it False when Zones represent separate physical rack areas. Enable it only when overlapping logical Zone definitions are intentional
