While TapeTrack automatically installs the Visual C++ Redistributable Package during normal installation, sometimes security software may block the installation without providing any notifications to the user.
If you are presented with an error referencing a missing .dll file while trying to start TapeTrack software, manually installing the Visual C++ Redistributable 2015 - 2022 Runtime package will install the missing .dll files.
The latest supported version of Visual C++ Redistributable 2019 Package can be downloaded from Microsoft for Windows:
Run the downloaded executable, click Yes
to any system popups about the executable making changes to your computer.
Read license terms and conditions, check Agree
to enable the Install
button.
Click Install button to continue.
The Visual C++ Redistributable Package will then install on your computer.
At the end of installation when prompted, click restart
your computer to complete the process. If you need to save other work on your computer or server, click Close
and manually restart your computer at a convenient time to load the updated files.
Open your TapeTrack application and check that installing the Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable Package has solved the missing dll file issue.
