Overview

A TapeTrack User represents the identity of a task or person who is authorized to connect to a TapeTrack framework Server.

A User uses either their User-ID, or Email address, along with credentials such as a password to authenticate themselves before being granted access to the TapeTrack system.

User-ID

A User-ID is a unique identifier that identifies each User to, and within the TapeTrack System.

The rules for creating a User-ID are:

  1. Must be between one and 16 characters in length.
  2. Must comprised of only alphanumeric characters but can also include periods or dashes as long as they are not the first character of the ID.
  3. Must be unique.
  4. Must be the same as the Active Directory User-ID when requiring Active Directory authentication.
  5. Are case sensitive.
