A Robotic Library is a storage system that comprises of multiple tape drives, storage slots and an automation system that has the ability to scan barcodes (or RF reader) to identify Volumes, load Volumes into and remove them from the drives or storage slots.

Robotic libraries can also be referred to as a Tape Silo, Tape Robot or Tape Jukebox.
